Monterey Bay Jade Festival

The Monterey Bay Jade Festival is located at the Custom House Plaza, right by the Old Fisherman’s Wharf. This 3 day event is the largest jade festival in the USA and hosts raffles, food, jade carving exhibition, an International Jade Summit, “Friends of Jade” dinner, and features some of the best jade carvers in the world. During this family friendly event, your right on the Pacific Ocean’s coastline and can even view wild sea lions, otters, and other sea creatures that call this area “home.” Take a stroll down the wharf and dine at some fabulous restaurants, visit gift shops, catch a whale watching excursion, and take in the views of sailboats wondering the ocean.
As for Luki Lapidary, our booth (#30) is located right in the center of this event and beside the legendary jade carver and MBJF founder, Georg Schmerholz. This is a unique experience for us to meet our customers face to face, and provide them with personal service. We will be showcasing our carvings and jewelry that is not listed on our website or Etsy store under natural sunlight. We are also the ONLY authorized representative Mayan Mountain, an international importer of rough Guatemalan jadeite and jewelry. You can find their rough jadeite, slabs, bracelets, necklaces, carvings, and more at our booth…just look for the table with the blue Mayan Mountain flag!
The International Jade Summit, presented by Mason-Kay Jade, will be an all-day event for jade sellers, gemologists and appraisers looking to expand their knowledge of jade and the international jade market. Open to customers and enthusiasts as well, this is the ONLY jade-centric conference in the USA and is set to take place during the Monterey Bay Jade Festival. The Jade Exhibition is open to jade carvers of all skill levels ranging from those establishing themselves in the jade carving community to those with decades of experience in jade artistry. This exhibition is a safe, supportive effort for every artist to exhibit their work, receive valuable feedback from their peers, and to receive validation for their works by participating in the world’s few annual international jade carving exhibitions. In the months leading up to the festival, fundraising is a priority. You can become an Event Sponsor or donate to raise money for it’s local beneficiaries. The MBJF is focused to ensure the safety and security of the event with the intention of providing both vendors and guests with an enjoyable experience through it’s volunteers. The festival is a welcoming space where we can celebrate the Jade Culture, and at the same time give back to the community.
